Happy Paws & Claws Veterinary Clinic is in Englewood, an easy drive south from Tipp City. Many Tipp City and Miami County families already bring their dogs, cats, reptiles and small pets to us, and we would love to meet yours.

We are an independent, locally owned veterinary clinic led by Dr. Angela Melton and Dr. Caity Walsh. Our appointments are longer than most, so every visit has time for a real exam, a real conversation and every question you bring.

Why Tipp City Pet Owners Choose Happy Paws & Claws

  • Time with your pet. We don't rush appointments. That extra time is what lets us catch small problems early and explain your options clearly.
  • Dogs, cats and exotic pets under one roof. Many clinics see only dogs and cats. We also care for reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and other small pets.
  • Answers the same day. Our in-house lab and digital X-ray and ultrasound mean many results come back during your visit.
  • Prices you can see before you book. Exam, vaccine, surgery and dental prices are published on our pricing page.
  • Independent and locally owned. There is no corporate group behind us. Decisions about your pet are made by our doctors, here in Englewood.

Exotic and Reptile Care for Tipp City

If you have a bearded dragon, leopard gecko, ball python, turtle, rabbit or guinea pig, finding a vet who knows them well matters. Our owner, Dr. Angela Melton, completed internships at the Fort Worth Zoo and the Australia Reptile Park, and she keeps leopard geckos and a bearded dragon herself.

An exotic pet visit with us covers the whole picture, not just the animal on the table:

  • A full hands-on exam and weight check
  • A review of the habitat: heat, lighting, humidity and setup
  • Diet and supplement advice for your species
  • Lab work or X-rays only when your pet needs them, with costs explained first

Care for Tipp City Dogs and Cats at Every Age

Puppies and kittens

A first puppy or kitten visit is $65. We check growth, heart, eyes, ears and teeth, start the vaccine series, and plan parasite prevention, microchipping and the right time to spay or neuter.

Adult dogs and cats

A yearly wellness exam is $65 and is the best way to catch problems early. We look at weight, skin, joints, heart, teeth and behavior, and update vaccines and prevention.

Senior pets

Older pets often hide pain and early illness. Our senior pet care and pain management help keep them comfortable, and our in-house lab makes bloodwork quick.

Surgery and dental care

Spay, neuter and other surgeries include monitoring by a licensed nurse the whole time. Dental cleanings include full-mouth dental X-rays with every cleaning.

Year-Round Parasite Prevention in Miami County

Fleas and ticks don't stop when the weather cools. Pets who walk trails, visit parks or spend time in the yard can pick them up in spring, summer and fall, and fleas can keep living indoors through the winter. We will recommend prevention that fits your pet, your budget and your lifestyle at your next visit.

Your First Visit

When you book, you will get reminders before your appointment, including one about two hours before. If you need help bringing a large or nervous pet inside, just let us know when you arrive and someone will come out to help. If plans change, please give us two days' notice so another pet can use that time.
