Protect Your Pet with Microchipping
Pet Microchipping
At Happy Paws & Claws, we understand the worry that comes with a lost pet. Unlike collars and tags, microchips cannot come off and get misplaced. Give them the best chance of being found with a microchip.
What is Microchipping?
A microchip, about the size of a rice grain, is implanted under your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. It contains a unique identification number that can be read by a handheld scanner. This allows shelters and veterinary clinics around the Dayton area (including ours!) – and beyond – to identify lost pets and contact you directly.
Why Microchip Your Pet?
- Enhanced Identification: Even the most vigilant pet can escape. Collars and ID tags can fall off, but a microchip is permanent.
- Quick Reunions: Shelters can quickly identify your pet and return them home, minimizing their stay in an unfamiliar environment.
- Peace of Mind: Microchipping offers invaluable peace of mind, knowing you’ve taken every step to ensure your pet’s safe return.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Schedule an appointment for microchipping at your pet’s next visit. We can also discuss additional steps to take if your pet goes missing.
