Our Veterinary Clinic

Dr Angela Melton grew up outside of Eaton, Ohio. She had a menagerie of animals from a young age and her dad said she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was five. She showed pigs in 4-H and worked at the local vets office when she was in high school. She worked on the college farm while in undergrad at Wilmington College. After graduating from Wilmington, she went to vet school at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She did internships at Fort Worth Zoo and Australia Reptile Park while in vet school. Her first job after vet school was in general practice at Kettering Animal Hospital, then she worked at Northgate Animal Hospital. She wanted to venture into a new experience and opened Happy Paws & Claws Veterinary Clinic. She is excited to serve the community and develop relationships with her clients and their furry, feathered, scaled, or hairless family members.

Dr Melton owns a pit bull named Ferra, a sphynx named Dottie, 3 leopard geckos, and a beardie. She loves to travel out of the country, ride her bike and she has a ridiculous plant addiction.

Dr. Caitlin Walsh grew up as a military brat until her family eventually settled in the Dayton area. She has always loved animals and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Animal Sciences from Purdue University in 2016. She then combined her love of animals and desire to travel by attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, where she completed her pre-clinical studies. She spent her clinical year of hospital rotations at University College Dublin in Ireland and graduated in 2020. During vet school, she completed internships in Ireland, Costa Rica, Iceland, Alaska, and Vermont before moving back to the Dayton area. She is ecstatic to join the Happy Paws & Claws team and provide exceptional care to beloved family members.

In her free time, Dr. Walsh enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, camping, hiking, baking with her sourdough starter, reading, knitting, cheering on the Bruins, Red Sox, and Pats, and watercolor painting.
